The Home Page is the perfect place to show the product to users and explains why using the platform will add value to their cooking skills

Addressing my design choice:

– People don’t see the value of paying for online one-to-one tuitions to learn how to cook because there’s a lot of free online resources
I have decided to add a video at the top that can show users about the personalised experience that they can have on the platform which is what differentiates it from free websites such as YouTube. The first paragraph states clearly why people should use the platform and provides quotes from other students.

– People in the survey have expressed the importance of knowing the teaching method to understand more about their learning experience
I have included a paragraph that summarises the teaching method in three categories to shows users the unique teaching method of the platform.

– Most of the users in the research stated that they read reviews/comments when they buy a new product online
The comments from other students are shown on top of the video. It would be great to have an interaction so that comments change to provide as many comments as possible to users. Quotes from students are also shown through the Home Page to reiterate to new users benefit from using the platform to improve cooking skills. A section towards the bottom of the website is also entirely dedicated to users comments.

– A lot of people who answered the survey stated they they already know how to cook or that they can follow a recipe and that’s the best way to learn
The Home Page shows teachers and courses to provide users with ideas of what they can learn with the help of a personal teacher, allowing them to see the values that the tuition could add to their cooking skills

– Some positive comments from the survey show that some users are open to the idea of hiring a teacher so it will be great to provide a free lesson for them to test it out
Calls to action are presented to the users throughout the page to encourage them to try the platform for free. Also the website allow users to navigate courses and teachers and to start the on boarding process without the need to sign up. This creates an element of trust with the users and could potentially create a higher conversion rate.
